When you engage China Business Limited for sourcing services, you entrust us with sensitive commercial information. This Confidentiality Policy sets out clearly how we protect that information — your sourcing strategies, supplier relationships, and business intelligence — and the obligations we undertake to safeguard your competitive interests.
Our Confidentiality Commitment
China Business Limited treats all sourcing-related information provided by clients as strictly confidential. This includes, but is not limited to: your target products and specifications, budget parameters, supplier preferences, market intelligence, and any business strategies disclosed during our engagement.
Confidential information shared with us in the course of providing sourcing services will:
- Never be disclosed to your competitors or potential competitors;
- Never be used to benefit any other client in a manner that conflicts with your interests;
- Never be accessed for any purpose unrelated to your sourcing engagement with us;
- Be handled only by personnel directly involved in your sourcing project, on a strict need-to-know basis.
Competitor Exclusions
We recognise that the commercial value of our sourcing service depends on protecting your competitive position. Accordingly, during your active engagement with us — and for a minimum period of 12 months thereafter, or such longer period as may be agreed in writing — we will not provide equivalent or conflicting sourcing services to your identified competitors or potential competitors in the same product category and market.
The duration of the post-engagement exclusion period will be agreed in writing at the commencement of the engagement. Where no explicit period is agreed beyond the minimum, the 12-month minimum shall apply as a floor.
Supplier Relationship Protection
Any supplier contacts, relationships, or networks identified, introduced, or developed specifically for your account during our engagement remain exclusive to your business for the duration of that engagement and for a minimum of 12 months after its conclusion, or such longer period as may be agreed in writing.
Specifically, we will not introduce the same supplier relationships to other importers in your country of import — or in any additional markets pre-agreed between us in writing — during this protected period. For the purposes of this Policy, "country of import" means the country into which the goods are cleared through customs for commercial use.
Information Separation
Client-specific sourcing information is handled only by the personnel directly assigned to your project. It is not shared with, or accessible to, personnel working on other client engagements, and is never repurposed for any other commercial use. Where CBL engages third-party specialists or local contacts to assist with your project, those individuals are bound by equivalent confidentiality obligations before receiving any information relating to your account.

Limitations & Exceptions
Our confidentiality obligations do not apply to information that:
- Was already in the public domain at the time of disclosure and not through any breach on our part;
- We are required to disclose by applicable law, court order, or regulatory authority (we will notify you to the extent legally permissible before such disclosure);
- Was independently known to us prior to your disclosure and without any obligation of confidence.
